[edit] Biography

Born on March 3rd, 2132, Anna Chase Boyle was the child of Phillip Boyle and Veronica Chase. She grew up in Whitby, Ontario and excelled in her studies, graduating from both the University of Ottawa and Harvard University with master's degrees in political science and economics.

Early on, she worked in public office. Starting as an economics advisor to the Canadian provinces in 2160, then later as an aide to the Canadian representative to the United Nations of Earth, Joanne McDonald in 2169.

In 2173, she was elected herself as Canadian representative to the UNE. And served in that post for nearly a decade. She was among a handful of UNE representatives who survived the Battle of Earth.

Then with the formation of the United Systems Alliance, Boyle was elected as Earth's representative to the Alliance Parliament in 2184. She held that post for sixteen years, working with both President Quentin Parker and President Anar.

[edit] Administration

Boyle oversaw one of the greatest reform movements of the early Alliance years. She had run on that and defeated Judson Ngomo of Centauria on a promise of getting several key bits of legislation through the Parliament.

Primary among them was The Incorporation Act of 2202. Created in response to the collapse of the mega-corporations, the Alliance Parliament establishs the definitions of interstellar incorporation. Basically, it states that no business entity can operate as a cohesive corporation on more than one planet.

Also passed under Boyle's leadership was The Artificial Intelligence Act of 2203. This was created due to the development of the GZK-8000 mainframe in 2201 and the subsequent revelation that the GZK had developed a sentient intelligence. Immediately, Boyle pushed the Alliance Parliament to move quickly to outlaw all artificial sentience and it did.

She served two terms and was widely hailed as one of the great Presidents of the Alliance.

[edit] Later Life

Boyle returned to Ontario after her Presidential term ended in 2208. Her memoirs, "A Life And Presidency" was a top-seller on the Interweb. She and her wife, Allison, travel and lecture.
