[edit] Melbourne Orbital Transfer Station
The Melbourne Orbital Transfer Station is one of two stations which orbit the planet Terra, the other being Seattle Orbital Transfer Station. The stations are used for two purposes, to unload and load cargo to/from starships, and to transport passengers to several planets via shuttles which arrive at the station at frequent intervals. For civilian transportation, these stations act as "hubs" between the surface and transport starships or intra-system shuttles. Passengers are teleported aboard the station from the ground, and once on the station, they can make their way to their desired ship at one of four docking ports. Flight schedules are located throughout the station for passenger convienience, in addition periodic public announcements are made to inform passengers of arriving and departing ships. The Melbourne station primary handles intra-system traffic between Terra, Mars, and Mercury.
[edit] Loading and Unloading Cargo
On many civilian missions, found at the Terran space ports (Melbourne Space Port and Seattle Space Port, require that the civilian vessel deliver cargo to certain space ports. In many cases the delivery, or the delivery products are loaded at the Melbourne Orbital station.
[edit] Transportation from the station
Several shuttles depart and arrive from the station, travelling to several destinations inside and outside of Sol System. These shuttles charge credits for their use, tickets to board one of these shuttles can be purchased at the Space Port.
Below is a list of shuttles, their destination and price for a one way ticket.
Utopia Planetia Farsoom SpacePort, Mars 930 credits
Olympus Mons Farsoom SpacePort, Mars 930 credits
Viktoria Aurora Hermes SpacePort, Mercury 930 credits
Civilian (player) owned starships may also transport passengers from this orbital transfer station.
