Second colony within the Sol System, Mercury is almost exclusively a mining colony, supplementing Terran mineral resources, as almost all have been removed from Earth. It is also one of the few sources of trycene within the Sol System. The settlement of Hermes Colony was founded on Mercury in 2113. The main space port can be found at coordinates 020.49N 058.01E on the planet

1974- The American "Mariner 10" becomes the first Mercury probe to take photos of the planet.

2011- MESSENGER, another American probe, assumes Mercurial orbit, spending a year mapping the planet.

2079- An IPC manned probe "Hermes" lands in a specially-armored landing module. It makes initial surveys and discovers trycene on the surface. The mineral is analyzed and its unique 4-dimensional properties are discovered.

2113- The Hermes Colony is established.

2215- Mercury reachs a population of 5 million, mostly miners, some with families.
