Name: Michelle Ney (born Valentina Cherenkov)

2224: Served with the Colonial Militia as helmsman of the S.S. Farx owned by Mauthe, and commanded by Allough Norrington. Involved in most of the actions fought by the Militia, including the combat at Rodomok, and the rescue of S.S. Please from the clutches of the Klinshayans.

After the militia disbanded she continued on as a crewman on the Farx and participated in more combat operations, including the ill-fated DeathWing 'liberation' mission at Klinzatz. Which resulted in the untimely demise of the Farx by fire received from Klinshayan orbital defenses while trying to take a crippled (by the Farx) DW under tow.

At a loose end on Earth, waiting for a new ship, she happened to pass by Fleet HQ in Seattle where she bumped into Bosh Alexander. Recently re-instated as a RADM in Starfleet he advised her that 7th Fleet were looking for personnel, and that he wanted ex-militia crew to enlist. She explained to him that she had left the service under dubious circumstances shortly after graduating from the academy, and had failed to mention to anyone that she was leaving the service. The Admiral had a chat with the recruitment department, and personnel office, and finagled a deal with the Officer commanding the personnel dept whereby Valentina could be re-instated as a fresh graduate under a new name. But would be monitored closely, and any misdemenours would result in a 4 year duty spell in the Glasshouse. Valentina readily agreed to the terms and adopted the name Michelle Ney in honour of a French General she had studied at the Academy.

Ney was enlisted into 7th Fleet as an ensign aboard U.A.S. Centauria II where she started her career in fleet as a tactical officer.

2226: May. Reprimanded by FADM Max Milner after inquest into the loss of Centauria II.

2229: June 26. Operation sunburn. CONNs the U.A.S. Yorktown in an operation to prevent U.A.S. Brendan falling into Procyon Alpha after she had been disabled in close orbit of the star.

2229: July 12th. Battle of Barnard's Star. Several waves of Klinshayans attacked a XON ship. U.A.S. Yorktown attacked the Klinshayans, later Joined by the Shiloh and Brendan. Yorktown saves the Brendan for the 2nd time in a month.
